Protecting Your Privacy - Credit Review & Fraud Prevention Process
At The Receivables ExchangeTM (TRE), our Sellers, Buyers, and Partners are our greatest assets. We are honored that you have entrusted us with your private information, and we are committed to keeping this information safe, secure and private. Establishing and adhering to an effective privacy policy, regarding proper handling and use of sensitive data, is an important part of that dedication.
TRE has a comprehensive Security Plan that involves continually improving our security policies and processes to constantly stay ahead of emerging threats. In fact, we employ former federal law enforcement officials and participate actively in several national security trade groups focused on online and offline security matters in order to utilize the latest security practices to protect our customers’ data.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We outline the details below, including the types of information we collect about you and how we use that information. Our privacy policy applies to current and former customers.
TRE takes great care to protect information. When we use it, we do so with great respect for your privacy. We may use information about you to service and maintain your account; process transactions in your account; respond to inquiries from you or your approved representative; develop, offer, and deliver products and services; or to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements. TRE may collect public and non-public information about you from any of the following sources:
- You or your approved representative on applications or forms (for example, name, address, EIN, assets and income)
- Transactional activity in your account (for example, trading history and posted Receivables)
- Other interactions with TRE (for example, discussions with our customer service staff or information you enter into our Web site)
- Information from third party reporting agencies (for example, data obtained during our thorough Due Diligence process)
- Other sources with your consent or with the consent of your approved representative (for example, from other institutions if you post Receivables on the Exchange)
TRE Privacy Policy
TRE considers the protection of your information to be a foundation of client trust and a sound business practice. We employ physical, electronic and procedural controls and we regularly adapt these controls to respond to changing requirements and advances in technology. At TRE, we restrict access to information to those who require it to process, develop, support, offer and deliver products and services to you.
We use firewall barriers, encryption techniques and authentication procedures, among others, to maintain the security of your online session and to protect TRE accounts and systems from unauthorized access. We may also place cookies and similar files on your hard drive for purposes such as security, to facilitate site navigation, and to personalize your experience on our site. Our cookies do not identify you by name as an individual or by account number.
When you visit TRE's web site, we may collect technical and navigational information, such as computer browser type, Internet protocol address, pages visited, and average time spent on our Web sites. This information may be used, for example, to alert you to software compatibility issues, or it may be analyzed to improve our Web design and functionality.
We may use third-party service providers to help us analyze certain online activities. For example, these service providers may help us measure the performance of our online advertising campaigns or analyze visitor activity on our Web sites. TRE does not share information about our customers with unaffiliated third parties for use in marketing their products and services. We may share information with the following entities:
- Unaffiliated service providers (for example, printing and mailing companies, our lockbox banking provider, and other entities who may provide services at TRE's direction)
- Government agencies, other regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials (for example, for tax purposes or for reporting suspicious transactions)
- Other organizations, with your consent or as directed by your approved representative, or as permitted or required by law (for example, for fraud prevention)
- Information concerning Seller companies from whom Buyer or potential Buyer companies are seeking to purchase Receivables posted on the Exchange
If you are a former customer, these policies also apply to you; we treat your information with the same care as we do information about current customers.
