NEW ORLEANS, July 1, 2008 -- The Receivables Exchange (www.receivablesXchange.com), the world’s first online marketplace for real-time trading of accounts receivable, today announced that it has named Laurie Azzano as Vice President, Media and Communications. Ms. Azzano is a highly regarded marketing and communications expert who, over the course of her career, has worked with a number of well-known technology brands, including E-LOAN, eBay, McAfee, Hewlett-Packard, Prosper.com and Wells Fargo Online Banking.
“Laurie has been instrumental in helping to build some of the most recognizable Internet and technology brands in the world,” said Justin Brownhill, co-founder and chief executive officer of The Receivables Exchange. “Her experience in creating and executing marketing and communications programs for such high profile companies will be invaluable in helping us to establish the Exchange as one of the world’s premier financial exchanges.”
Ms. Azzano has a long history of helping both established and startup technology companies prepare for and successfully execute high profile corporate and product launches, and to continue to elevate their brand post-launch through strategic positioning and communications campaigns. For the past nine years, she has served as the CEO of Cosmo Public Relations, a boutique communications agency she co-founded and built into a highly respected strategic communications firm. At Cosmo PR, Ms. Azzano worked with such high-profile brands as E-LOAN, eBay, McAfee and Prosper.com. Prior to Cosmo PR, she was recruited by Copithorne & Bellows to build their West Coast Internet practice. Within the first four months, she signed national clients including Wells Fargo’s Online Banking and E-commerce division, Hewlett-Packard’s E-Commerce platforms division, and managed the multi-million dollar re-launch of the Alta-Vista brand. Worldwide communications company Porter Novelli acquired Copithorne & Bellows during the same year.
Before joining Copithorne & Bellows, Ms. Azzano was a Senior Executive at Niehaus Ryan Group, a leading Silicon Valley Internet and technology public relations firm known for its work with Yahoo!, Apple, Mapquest and many other high profile technology brands. Ms. Azzano began her career in Washington, D.C., building marketing and communications programs for companies in the transportation industry. She earned an MBA from the University of Iowa and holds a BS degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.
“I’ve been fortunate to work with many well-respected brands that have transformed their industries,” said Ms. Azzano. “The Receivables Exchange is poised to do the same for a $17 trillion marketplace, broadening and redefining an enormous industry while creating a compelling new value proposition for millions of small and medium sized businesses in search of capital. The culture, the team and the level of innovation at the Exchange feels very much in line with the most successful companies I’ve encountered.”
The Receivables Exchange’s online marketplace will bring together a global network of accredited capital providers with millions of growth-oriented private companies in search of capital. In today’s volatile credit markets, accounts receivable financing is a great tool for private companies to gain quick access to alternative and flexible working capital solutions that can help them grow their businesses.
